The Team Lead Production leads team members to manage all daily operations within the mill. This person must maintainanenvironment that assures customers receiveawholesome andsafeproduct delivered to theirspecifications byensuringthat all qualityassuranceand food safetyprograms are enforced. Ensuresthat all environmentalprotection programs are followed to assureasafework environment. Manages thepackaging and warehouseareas inamannerthat will help achieve the goal of safely milling, packaging, loading and handling material and reducing waste. Identifies problems or bottlenecks in production processes and resolves issues. Ensures production resources including materials, equipment and human resources are available as needed to maintain production schedules. Supports continuous improvement goals in safety, quality, cost and customer service. Sustain a workplace that embraces the value of each employee and supports their well-being.
The Production Team Lead has a variety of responsibilities including:
- Personally demonstrate a commitment to food and human safety
- Develop the plant’s overall commitment to safety
- Proactively address and correct quality issues
- Oversight of department equipment, safety, human capital etc.
- Perform and supervise activities of workers engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment
- Schedule repair, maintenance and installation to ensure continuous production operations. Participates in development of preventive maintenance program in conjunction with engineering department. Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards
- Assist in integrating HACCP and sampling procedures in the loading, packing and warehouse area
- Ensure that employees provide required support in maintaining records of analysis and certification
- Manage sanitation aspects of milling, packing, shipping, receiving and storage
- Optimize mill performance and yield
- Optimize packaging performance
- Reduce cost and operating expense
- Regularly review the production cost of all products
- Reduce or eliminate production barriers
- Manage efforts to reduce or eliminate waste
- Manage all assets
- Maintain adequate packaging material and spare parts inventory

- Oversee the production and shipment of quality products to fulfill customer requirements according to all QC and HACCP and sanitation guidelines. Control and effectively utilize the production capacity, human resources, and equipment and outside resources through planning, organizing and scheduling to minimize losses; works within the framework of the budget to optimize company profitability
- Communicate and manage specific enterprise initiatives as they pertain to the mill department

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Agriculture, Business or related field required.
- Two years manufacturing experience required.
- One year+ supervisory experience required.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement processes. TPM knowledge highly preferred.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
